Cutie Pie DT Card - Birthday Card With a Sketch

It's challenge time once again at Cutie Pie, this week we have a sketch for you and a theme of "Birthday Cards".  Our sponsors this time are Flat and Friends and Just Some Lines.
I used a cute Cuddly Buddly stamp that I got as a birthday present as the image for my card, coloured, as usual, with Promarkers.  I added some tiny punched leaves round the pony's feet for an autumn feel.  The sentiment was done with a Personal Impressions stamp, I thought it went rather well with this hairy pony.
The papers are Papermania, Tilly Daydream, to which I've added some orange cardstock.  For the bunting element on the sketch, I used some baker's twine and punched leaves for a seasonal twist.  To finish off, I added some rust coloured ribbon, and a bow topped with a button.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Dream Valley - #66 - Autumn

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Use Some Black

It's challenge time at A Gem of a Challenge, this week our theme is, "Use Some Black on Your Card".  I've gone with a Halloween card this time, using Chloe with Cauldron, which you'll find in the Pink Gem shop here.
I coloured the image with my usual Promarkers using traditional Halloween colours, adding a touch of Star Dust Stickles to the foam in the cauldron.
I made a double dutch fold for this one, I haven't made one of these for ages, I'd forgotten how fun they are to make.  I used some old Papermania Capsule Collection papers matted onto purple cardstock, and some lime green spider's web against the black cardstock.  I also made a sort of bow out the spider's web and attached it to the card with a glitter brad.  The pumpkin was made with die cut ovals and some green craft wire, I quite like how it came out.  To finish off, I added a ticket sentiment, again coloured with Promarkers.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Craftin' Boutique - #9 - Halloween
DRS Designs - So Spooky it's Scary
Scrapper's Delights - #8 - Make Your Own Embellishments

Digi Haven DT Project - Two Colours

It's challenge time again at Digi Haven, this fortnight our theme is "Use Two Colours" and we're sponsored by My Graphico.  You can use neutrals such as black and white along with your chosen two colours if you like, as you can see, I chose to use purple and red for my project.  The DT were given a set of My Graphico Halloween images to use, I chose this fun bottle label and decided to print it large and use it as a label, rather than make a card with it, I'm going to use it as a Halloween decoration.  You don't need to follow a Halloween theme to play along, just use a digi and two colours, easy as that.  Please do check out what my DT teamies have made for this challenge, there are some pretty awesome creations.
I reckon that this is the sort of thing that Dracula might have on his table when he's entertaining a lady vampire!
The label was coloured with Promarkers, I added the dripping blood design myself to add to the Halloween feel, and glittered the word "Dracula's" and the bats with black glitter.
After sticking the label to the empty wine bottle with strong double sided tape, I set to work with a candle, a box of matches, and a "Don't try this at home kids" warning, getting wax to drip down the bottle, to add to the Gothic, blood drippy look.  Once the bottle was suitably waxy, I popped a candle in a left it to burn down a good bit, then blew it out and got busy with the matches again to make it all drippy too.
I had such fun making this and my six year old son absolutely loves it.
I'm entering this project in the following challenges -
Altered Eclectics - Anything Goes
The Crafting Cafe - Altered Art
Crafty Sentiments - Not a Card
All My Crafts - No Cards

Beautiful Mermaid

I had a blast making this one, the beautiful image was a joy to colour with my Promarkers and I had great fun layering fabric and ribbon scraps for the background.
The gorgeous image is a freebie from A Day For Daisies, you'll find it here, if you want to download it for yourself, they have several fabby freebies on the go at the moment.
The background for this card was made by layering torn strips of organza fabric onto some lovely card with a sort of subtle, pearlised oil slick pattern on it.  Next I added some strips of green spider's web and assorted lengths of ribbon, before going wild with dew drops and pearls, finishing with a corner detail made from random bling.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
CRAFT - #226 - Inspired by a Book - The Little Mermaid
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Creative Craft - #19 - Use Ribbon
Bunny Zoe's - Something Blue

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Make Your Own Flowers

It's challenge time again at I Love Promarkers, this week our theme is "Make Your Own Flowers", and we're sponsored by Pink Gem.  The DT were all given Pink Gem images to play with, which I always enjoy as I'm a member of the Pink gem DT, they're such fun to colour, which I've done with Promarkers, of course.
I've used Chloe With Ice Cream, you'll find it in the Pink Gem shop here.  The papers are Raspberry Road, Love Lives Here, they were free with a magazine a couple of months back, I've distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz tool, and added some lace to one of the layers.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, I embellished it with Liquid Pearls.
The ice cream embellishment was made with a Dovecraft punch that I picked up at the SECC last year for £1.  It punches out all the layers, even the weeny cherry, not bad for a pound eh!  I added sprinkles with Liquid Pearls.  The flowers were made with Xcut dies, shaped with a ball tool, and topped with green pearls, the leaves were made with a Woodware punch.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
LEJ - #72 - Lots of Layers
Tammy's Scrappin' Corner - #81 - Happy Birthday
Come and Get It - Happy Birthday
Crafts 4 Eternity - #142 - Cute Kids

Vintage Poppy

It's my sister's birthday today, here's the card I made for her.
The beautiful papers I used for this one are Prima, Fairy Rhymes, I added some faux stitching to it and distressed all the edges with mt Tim Holtz tool.
The poppy was made with a Sizzix, Susan's Garden die, I coloured it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and black Pan Pastel, then shaped the petals with the Susan's Garden tool kit, that I got for my birthday.  The tool kit is amazing, a real asset to anyone who regularly makes their own flowers, I can see mine getting very heavy use.  The die too is lovely, I feel a collection from this range coming on, so far I only have to poppy, but I expect I'll pick up a few more at the SECC next month.
To embellish, I've used lace, ribbon, a bow, feathers, a twine threaded button, pearls, gems, and I've finished off with a sentiment stamped with a Kanban ticket stamp.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Card Mania - #30 - Use at Least 1 Button, mine is in the middle of the bow

Noel

I've finally got round to playing with some of the lovely stash in the latest Docrafts goody bag, it's a cracker again this time, I can't wait to delve deeper into it!
The papers and stamps are both from Papermania's First Noel range, the papers are beautiful, some have gorgeous foiling, and the poinsettia stamp is nice and big.
I stamped the poinsettia onto patterned paper several times, heat embossed with gold powder, cut out, and layered up with foam pads for dimension.  The sentiment was heat embossed with the same powder, using a stamp from the same set, I added a length of ribbon behind it.
The rest of the card was just a simple mat and layer job, using the First Noel papers and matte gold card, with corners cut with a Nellie Snellen die for interest on the innermost mat.
To finish off, I added some gold gems to the flower's centre and a gem either side of the sentiment.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Crafty Catz - #199 - Decoupage

Love and Laughter

It's those Forever Friends bears again, I always enjoy colouring them with my Promarkers, this time I've used a wedding stamp from a set that I recently picked up in a sale.
The gold mirri card made this sooo hard to photograph, so apologies for the pics.
The papers and ribbon are from Papermania's Forever Friends, Black and Gold range, some of the papers are beautifully foiled, which looks really classy against the muted neutrals.  The hearts on the black ribbon are also foiled, although it doesn't show up too well in the photo.
The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the flowers and foliage were made with punches.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Fussy and Fancy DT Card - Punches and Dies

We have a new challenge for you today at Fussy and Fancy, this fortnight I think our theme is going to be a popular one, it's "Punches and Dies".
I used Spellbinders Grand Ovals to make the oval easel card and to create all the layers, the snowy layers were torn from textured card after die cutting.  I've only had my Grand Calibur a year, I can't image crafting without it now.  I still have my Cuttlebug for when I want to use thicker dies, but I have to say that I really love these large nesties.  The papers I've used are Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas, I picked them up in the January sale after last Christmas at a ridiculously cheap price.
The stamped image is a Wild Rose Studios stamp, which came free with the current issue of Quick Cards Made Easy, I could hardly wait to get my mag home to get the stamp inked up, I think it's beautiful.  I Stamped it in London Fog Memento ink and coloured it with Promarkers, I also decoupaged the girl, the dog and the two robins for a bit of dimension.  To make the trees snowy, I used Cosmic Shimmer white glue (it dries white rather than clear) and sprinkled it with Glamour Dust, I also highlighted the image with Star Dust Stickles for even more sparkle.
The trees were cut with Sizzix dies from dark green pearl card, and I continued our challenge theme by using an EK Success border punch on the stopper element of the card.
To finish off, I added a bow, made by tying organza and satin ribbons together, and two Craftwork Cards sentiments.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Crafty Ribbons - #62 - Anything Goes with Ribbon
The Paper Shelter - #129 - More Than One Fold

Once Upon a Time.......

In a far away land (Scotland), I bought a set of Papermania, Midnight Fairytale stamps, and didn't use them.  Many years later, (well a couple) I unearthed them, blew away the magic dust from them, (well it's in my craft room, so the dust has a high glitter content making it at least look magic!) and decided to ink them up for only the second time. (Hangs head in shame.......until distracted by other crafty stash!)

The unicorn and castle are two separate stamps, I stamped the unicorn first and masked it off before stamping the castle, then coloured everything with Promarkers, adding a bit of sparkle to the unicorn's mane and tail with Glamour Dust and his horn with gold glitter.  I stamped swirls onto the topper with Perfect Medium, then heat embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder, I then stamped ivy leaves round the edges using old SeeDees stamps in Mowed Lawn Distress Ink.
The papers are Papermania, Tulip, I ran the green one through an Embossalicious folder with a flourish design to continue the romantic theme, then inked over with more Mowed Lawn ink.
To add to the leafy frame, I used my Marianne ivy corner die, and layered the die cuts over the stamped leaves.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set, I inked it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and added some Glamour Dust for a bit of glitz.  A trio of gems on the banner finish my card.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Fab 'n' Funky - #185 - Leaves

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Anything Goes

It's challenge time again at I love Promarkers, this week our theme is everyone's favourite, "Anything Goes", so get those pens out and colour any image you fancy to play along.
I made a birthday card for my DT card this week, it's for my friend, and fellow crafter, Fiona, Happy Birthday Fiona!  (It's her birthday today!)
The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp, coloured, of course, with Promarkers.  I bought her at the SECC last October but I forgot I had her, so this is her inaugural inking, it certainly won't be her last, she was a joy to colour.
The papers are Webster's Pages, they were a magazine freebie a few months back, the colour combo is really unusual, but it was the weeping willow that made me think "oriental".  I added in some teal satin board for the mat for the image and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.
To embellish, I added a doily, very pale pink lace, ribbon, a large lace bow, and I used my Spellbinders Cherry Blossom dies to make the flower laden branches.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Oldie but a Goodie - Punches and Dies - My old stash is the stamp, lace, ribbon and dies

Tilly Daydream Double Easel

It was craft night last night, and although we were a bit thin on the ground, we still enjoyed our cutting and sticking, after tea and home made chocolate and ginger cupcakes (recipe here on my baking blog), of course!
I made this double easel card using stuff from my Papermania Tilly Daydream Ultimate A4 pack, I picked it up for £7 in Hobby Craft last week, which is a bargain as it's jam packed with papers, decoupage, toppers, tags, and all sorts, in fact, the only other stash I used was card blanks, white card, a scrap of orange card, a few gems and a small bow.  Oh, and some Tea Dye Distress Ink for the edges........ and the rickrack, now I've started listing it it sounds quite a lot!

We have a new challenge for you today at Cutie Pie, this fortnight our theme is "One for the Boys" and we're sponsored by Di's Digis.  To play along all you have to do is make something cute with a male theme, simple as that!
I love this digi, it's from Whimsy Stamps and I picked it up as a Facebook freebie a couple of weeks ago.  It's no longer free, but if you're looking for it, it's called Best Buds, and I reckon it would be $3 well spent as it's such a nice image and great fun to colour, which I've done with Promarkers.
The papers are My Mind's Eye, Portobello Road and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  The cute paw print border punch I used down the side of one of the layers is from EK Success, I thought it went rather well with the dog image, I also added a paw print brad to a ribbon flash to continue the theme.  Two twine threaded buttons complete my card.

Owl Always Love You

This card is for a friend of mine to give her husband for their first wedding anniversary.  They are Polish and their surname has something to do with owls, so they love anything with owls on, making this cute Beccy's Place image perfect for them. This digi is one of Beccy's fabulous freebies, you'll find it here if you want to download it for yourself.
As always, the image has been coloured with Promarkers.
I've used some old Papermania papers and some lovely, DCWV foiled kraft card, added a ribbon and a bow, then die cut lots of leaves from kraft using Spellbinders dies from my Fall Foliage set, inking them with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  To finish off, I've added a good scattering of assorted gems in warm, autumnal colours.

Digi Haven DT Card - Kevin's Sketch

It's challenge time once again at Digi Haven, this fortnight we have a sketch challenge for you, and we're sponsored by Beccy's Place.  The DT were very generously given images by Beccy to use for this challenge, please do check out her store, her digis are gorgeous and she has a ton of freebies too.  The sketch was designed by the uber talented and all round nice guy, Kevin, who's a member of the Digi Haven DT, we all really enjoyed using it and we'd love for you to play along too.
I chose this fabulous image called Homegrown, which was a joy to colour with my Promarkers.  It made me think of the gardening themed papers in my Papermania Home to Nest A4 Ultimate pack as soon as I saw it, the sentiment is from the same pack too.
I made the topper into a pocket so that I could tuck a memory pocket into it, I have had a packet of these seed packet themed pockets in my stash for a wee while now, they came in a goody bag and I've been looking for a use for them.  I thought it would be a nice way to give a gift of money or a voucher.
I've embellished simply with garden twine, making this card suitable for a man.

Little Red Robins

The stamp and papers I've used here were a little birthday treat to myself, they're both from Papermania's Little Red Robin range, designed by one of my favourite illustrators, Lucy Cromwell.
I coloured the stamped image with Promarkers, using a white gel pen to add some snowflakes.
The ivy corner was made with a Marianne die, I thought it was a good match for the ivy patterned paper, and the holly border was made with a Martha Stewart punch.

GDT Card for Digital Delights

After winning a challenge recently at Delightful Challenges, I was offered a guest spot on the main Digital Delights blog, and an image of my choice to play with, so, of course, I jumped at the chance!  I chose this pretty, seasonal digi, called Sunflower Arrangement, and coloured it with my usual Promarkers.
The papers are from my beloved Prima, Sun Kiss pack, one of my all time fave stacks, in fact, as soon as I saw this image I thought of these papers.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
I used an EK Success leafy border punch to add to the autumnal feel, along with a leaf made with a Spellbinders die and a couple of flourishes made with a Marianne die.
For a touch of bling, I embellished two corners with an assortment of pearls and gems in warm, sunny colours, and I finished my cards with some ribbon and a bow.

Decoupage Wreath

Last night was our craft night, and after our tea and home made mocha marbled loaf (recipe here on my baking blog), we all made decoupage cards.  Hobby Craft has recently had some good reductions on a few of Papermania's A4 Ultimate packs, several of us had taken advantage, including me, so I decided to make a Christmas card using my new Lucy Cromwell pack.
I love this pretty wreath image, and it was just crying out for a touch of sparkle, so I added some Star Dust Stickles and some Anita's 3D Gloss.  The papers and sentiment are all from the Ultimate pack too, all I had to add to it was a few gems.

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Use a Doily and a Pin

It's challenge time again at A Gem of a Challenge, this week our theme is "Use a Doily and a Pin".  I've actually used two doilies, I cut them in half, then cut the middles away and pleated them to make a frill for my topper.  For the pin element, I made my own, from head pins and beads.

I've used one of Janet's stunning vintage images for my card, this one's called Leyla, and you'll find her in the Pink Gem shop here.  I've coloured her with my usual Promarkers, she was such fun to colour, I do so enjoy colouring these vintage girls.
The papers, filigree card blank, sentiment and decoupage rose are all from Papermania's Vintage Notes range, all I've added in are a couple of pearls and some organza ribbon.
