Cutie Pie DT Card - No Patterned Paper

It's time for a new challenge at Cutie Pie, this month our theme is "No Patterned Paper" and we're sponsored by 2 Cute Ink, who kindly gave the DT some some adorable image to play with.  I chose to use Winter Cardinal, colouring him with Promarkers and highlighting the image with Glamour Dust and Snow Balls from Anna Marie Designs.  I also added a couple of tiny seed beads for the bird's eyes, and a few sequins to bring a bit of extra sparkle to the background.  As usual, the red colouring hasn't photographed well, the shading looks much more three dimensional in reality.
I decided to go for traditional Christmas colours for this card, using two shades of green card and some bright red card for matting, from The Art of Craft, along with a sentiment from Craftwork Cards, the edges of which I inked with red ink.
I used a lovely Sue Wilson die to create the holly border at the top of the card, to which I added some red gems as berries.
To further embellish, I added some pretty gingham ribbon with a matching double bow.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Come and Get It - Ribbon or Twine
Glitter 'n' Sparkle - #214 - Anything Goes
Allsorts - #389 - Feature a Creature
Winter Wonderland - Add Ribbon or Lace
CRAFT - #389 - Winter
Crafty Gals Corner - #97 - Use a Sentiment
The Paper Shelter - #272 - Christmas is Coming
Passion for Promarkers - #371 - Cute Animals

Cutie Pie DT Card - Escape to the Country

It's the second Monday of the month so it must be time for a new challenge at Cutie Pie!  This month our theme is "Escape to the Country", meaning we'd like to see your farm or garden projects, and don't forget, they must be CUTE.  We're sponsored this time by 2 Cute Ink, who kindly provided the DT with some super sweet images to play with, I certainly enjoyed colouring my farm mouse with my Promarkers.
To make my card, I covered a 5x7 card with red pearl cardstock, then added a mat of kraft, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink.  The gingham papers and sentiment tag are from Papermania's Country Life range, and were all inked with the same ink as before for a rustic look.
To embellish, I added a brown doily, a white picket fence, made with a Marianne die, and a flower, to match the one the mouse is holding, made with a Woodware punch with Flower Soft in the centre, the leaves were cut with Marianne dies.  The final touch was a trio of brown pearls.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Challenge Up Your Life - #40 - Critters
