Criss cross cards were on the agenda for my girly craft night this week, so after custard cupcakes and tea we got down to business. I decided to make a card for my Dad, who's a fan of all things nautical, for Father's Day.
To make the outside of the card, I used cream cardstock and K&Co papers. I made decorative strips using blue card, white Distress Stain, doodled waves and some white paint pen. I went online and found a step by step tutorial for tying sailing knots and managed to tie one using garden twine. I added an anchor charm dangling from more twine and some Boofle buttons, along with a sentiment made with Papermania cardstock letter stickers.
The slider card was made with more cream card and K&Co papers, with a Michael Powell stamped image, coloured with Promarkers as the focal point. Its such a detailed image and so much fun to colour.
I set a couple of eyelets near the top and threaded some twine through to make it easy to remove the slider element. A wee twine bow finishes it off.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Crafting for all Seasons - #29 - for a man
Crafty Creations - #174 - use a charm
Fab 'n' Funky - #125 - Father's Day
Papercraft Star - #101 - Father's Day
