Here's my project from last night's craft session with the girls. After our tea and home made apple and hazelnut biscuits, we made hanging star Christmas decorations. We saw something similar at a Docrafts demo with
Geraldine Carruthers recently and all decided to have a go. I went with a homespun vintage look for mine, using brown Core'dinations and double sided scrapbooking paper to make a large wall hanging star. The triangles were all cut with Xcut nesting bunting dies, layered up to create the star shape, with the small triangles being folded at the wide edges. I made the central rosette from more brown Core'dinations, which I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and scored on my Hougie board, adding a scalloped circle to the middle, topped with a wooden leaping dear. I stuck Boofle buttons, all slightly different to each other, to the points to add to the folksy look and finished off with a ribbon hanging loop and bow.
I'm entering this project in the following challenges -
Pile It On - #43 - any holiday, I went for Christmas
Quirky Crafts - #22 - anything but a card using autumn colours
Stampalot - use a punch, I used a border punch on the rosette
Totally Papercrafts - #139 - Christmas
Winter Wonderland - anything but a card
I like that very much, quite a project for an evening. xx Flora
