Bohemian Vintage

Whilst browsing through a magazine, I came across a selection of cards featuring birds and bird cages and this reminded me of a beautiful Craftwork Cards goody pack I bought at the SECC in October.  It's from their Bohemian range and is full of cardstock, papers, die cuts and sentiments in the most beautiful muted colours.  Being a bit of a boho girl myself, what with my crazy long hair and colourful jewelry, I couldn't resist this pack!

Mum and I had a wonderful afternoon yesterday playing with this kit, getting messy with Distress Inks and embossing powders.  The cage was originally kraft, I dabbed on some white Distress Stain and then, once it had dried, I lightly dabbed on some perfect Medium and heat embossed with some Stampendous embossing enamel for a shabby look.

Here's how it looks unfolded.  The large bird was also made from kraft, this time I heat embossed with gold powder and added in some Gold Halo Mix for a touch of bling.  The little bird was cut with a Spellbinders die from kraft, then coloured with white Distress Stain with Gold Halo Mix for the wing.  The branch with tiny flowers and the fancy circle were also cut with Spellbinders and the larger flowers were made by layering up some of the die cut flowers from the pack.  I finished off by going wild with the bling, adding gems, pearls and a glitter brad.
