Retro Sewing

My Mum and I had a lovely crafternoon playing with our sewing themed stash, this is what I came up with, it's ehmmm, unusual I grant you but I had a fab time making it.
Mum got a Grand Calibur for her birthday so she fancied making a round card with my grand dies (she'll be pinching mine til she gets her own!), so I decided to make one too.
The rectangular panel was done with a Docrafts TriBoss embossing folder, a new acquisition to my stash and the first time I've used it.  The blue background is Core'dinations which I sanded after embossing to reveal the core, then removed the circle with a craft knife.  The scissors and thimble were embossed in mirri, the rose was done with more Core'dinations, then were fussy cut and glued onto the background.
The patterned papers are Papermania Happy Days, I treated myself to them with Christmas money.  I'd been eying them up since they came out last year but was put off by the £17 price tag for the 12x12 stack, but hey, that's what Christmas money is for!  They are really good quality and double sided too, they even smell great!
The pincushion was made with a Spellbinders sewing elements die and the pinked squares were made with Spellbinders Square Swatches dies, both courtesy of my Mum.  I have serious stash envy over them and I think I've used them more than she has!
The sentiment was stamped with a Buzzcraft stamp and heat embossed.  The large buttons are from my new, massive, Capsule Collection button bag and have been threaded with baker's twine.  I finished off with a random scattering of small buttons from my ever expanding button collection, I think I may be a button addict!  (I bought another huge bag of buttons today, this time from Papermania's Vintage Notes collection, oh yeah, and the matching papers......oops!)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Craft Us Crazy - #34 - inspiration pic and something new.  I used new papers and embossing folder
Dream Valley - #48 - anything goes
Pan Pastel - #1 - anything goes
Robyn's Fetish - #141 - anything goes
2 Sisters - #125 - anything goes
Creative Moments - #7 - embossing
ABC - E for embossing
