Vintage Butterflies

It's my auntie's birthday on Monday, here's the card I made for her, I hope she likes it.

The butterfly stamp is an Urban one from Papermania and is in the current goody bag, I really like how detailed it is and it stamps like a dream.  I stamped it onto white card, coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and inked the edges of the topper with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Next, I stamped it onto acetate, applied Pinflair glue for glitter to some areas on the back of the stamped image and added three different colours of Diamond Sparkles glitter in warm, earthy tones.  Once dry, they were cut out and attached to the topper along the body so the wings could be lifted for dimension.  I then stamped the bodies again, coloured them, cut them out and glued them in place.
The papers are Papermania Vintage Notes which have a lovely linen texture, the sentiment is cut from one of the papers.  I gave all the edges an inking with Tea Dye Distress Ink to given some definition as the colours are quite pale and muted.  I used a Tonic border punch to add interest to the simple layout and to continue the butterfly theme.
The final touches are some ribbon, a bow with a gem brad in the centre, pearls, brown gems and "trails" for the butterflies done with Liquid Pearls.  I was tempted to add some flowers but my aunt doesn't like overly fussy cards and they may have been overkill so I managed to resist the urge!
