I went to a Docrafts demo yesterday, and Geraldine Caruthers showed us how to do this fun fold. I hadn't seen this one before and had itchy fingers to have a go using my latest purchases (I've been a bit of a naughty girl again on the new stash front!).
It's made with a 12x12 sheet of paper, mine is 200gsm, a bit of scoring and folding, and a couple of small snips. I love how it all folds up and the point of the flap tucks into the front square.
I used Papermania Spots and Stripes Capsule Collection paper to make the card itself and Papermania Home to Nest papers to decorate, all inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
The die cut bird on the branch was made with a Marianne die and I added some gems for a bit of sparkle.
This is how it looks open. The image is a Heather Ellis digi that has been coloured with Promarkers. I inked the edge of the topper with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Ink and stamped a border using See-Dees stamps.
The sentiment and bird toppers are from the Home to Nest A4 Ultimate Pack and I finished the inside with a die cut branch. On the back, I stuck on a topper from the same pack where a message can be written.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Passion For Promarkers - #196 - To Die For
Di's Digis - Anything But Square
Totally Papercrafts - #165 - Don't be Square
