I had a lovely crafternoon with Mum and my friend, Alison, on Saturday, getting messing with inks and sprays, we all has rather colourful fingers after our inky play, especially my Mum, who always manages to get herself covered!
Firstly, I inked some card with Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn, then sprayed with water to allow the inks to run, and dried with a heat gun.
Next, I used a stencil borrowed from Mum to add a background design, inking through with Mowed Lawn and Picked Raspberry for the flowers and foliage, and an assortment of other inks for the butterflies. Once again, I spritzed with water, this time blotting with kitchen roll so the inks didn't flow too far, then I gave a good mist with green and blue Cosmic Shimmer sprays, and dried with a heat tool.
The next step was to stamp and heat emboss some dandelions with white embossing powder, using Personal Impressions stamps, I love how the white looks against the coloured background. The largest dandelion was crying out for a butterfly to land on it, so I stamped one with a Papermania stamp, onto some Kate Knight paper and cut it out and gave it a row of gems for it's body.
Finally, I added the foreground to my summer scene, firstly, by fussy cutting some flowers from a Kate Knight paper pack and sticking them on, then punching some white flowers in two sizes, and layering them over the fussy cut ones. To finish off, I added some dots of white pen and a sprinkling of assorted gems.
