It was our craft night last night, and after tea and home made key lime pie (recipe here on my baking blog), we all made cards with ribbon wreaths. These are a favourite of mine and a couple of the girls had never made them before and were keen to have a go, they were delighted with the results and surprised by how easy they are to make. It's my tenth wedding anniversary next week, which is tin, so I decided to make a card for my husband in metallic grey shades. He's not that fussed on a lot of my cards, he's not too keen on my heavily embellished, multi layered look, but he does really like my wreath cards, so here's hoping he likes this one.
This card was a simple mat and layer job with an aperture cut in the middle, and fancy corners, made with a Marianne die added to all four corners. I used narrow silver peel offs along the outer edges, between the corner embellishments for extra shine.
The wreath itself was made with grey ribbon with a silver fleck, I secured it into a circle with a brad, topped it with a grey bow, and added a charm to dangle down into the aperture.
On the inside, I stuck down some pale grey, pearl card, and stamped a sentiment with a Papermania stamp and added the number with felt stickers and a peel off for the "th".
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Crafty Bloggers Network - #13 - metal
Lady Anne's - #4 - Monochrome
Crafts 4 Eternity - #130 - Heavy Metal
Totally Papercrafts - #173 - June Bride and Groom
