Delicate Roses

I dug out an old Docrafts stamp that came in a goody bag many moons ago for this card, colouring direct to the stamp with Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint Distress Markers, then brushing over the stamped image with a water brush to spread the ink and colour it in.  This stamp has large areas of shading, especially on the leaves, which can make it look a bit dull when stamped in a dark colour, but it makes it perfect for this technique.  I added some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to the corners of the topper and spritzed with water for a mottled look, and then went round the edges with Peeled Paint.

The papers, sentiment and shaped blank are all from Craftwork Cards, I added some doodling round the edge of the card with the fine nib of the Worn Lipstick marker and inked the edges with more Peeled Paint ink.  The pretty, leafy borders were made with an EK Success punch.
I made the flower with my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, from my own handmade felt, which has a lovely shimmer as it's got silk tops added to the merino wool.  This can make it hard to die cut, but the Bigz dies cut through it like butter.  The leaves were made with Marianne dies from kraft core Core'dinations.  A few green pearls finish my card.
