Inky Fun and Gilding Flakes

I had fun with Distress Inks and a few gilding flakes making this one, playing away, getting inky and messy!  I used Sheena Douglass's tip of applying glycerine to the cardstock before inking, it certainly made the ink glide on easily and smoothly, worth doing for large backgrounds like this.  I used Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Peacock Feathers, sprayed with water for a mottled, drippy effect.  The chevrons were added using a That Special Touch mask, and more Distress Ink.
With the chevrons in place, I then stamped the image, it's an Indigo Blu stamp, called Miss Austin, I bought it after seeing it at an Indigo Blu demo a few weeks ago, I love how detailed it is.  I used a white pen to add some highlights and used Glossy Accents to glaze her hair and the bird in the cage.
Next, I sponged some Flitter Glue through a Clarity stencil and applied Morris Dance gilding flakes to the glue, the colour tones in that particular flake selection go very nicely with the inks I've used in this project.
To embellish, I added some variegated twine and a large button.
