A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Stitching

It's challenge time once again at A Gem of a Challenge, this time our theme is "Stitching, Real or Faux", and as usual you have a fortnight to play along.  I've used one of Janet's new images from Pink Gem, called Angelica, I really enjoyed colouring her with my Promarkers, she's so adorable, maybe my mojo is finally returning.
The patterned paper is Papermania Lucy Cromwell, it's got a lovely glitter finish, the sentiment tag is from the same range too, I secured it to the card with brads.  The cardstock on the bottom half of the card was embossed with a Sheena Douglass daisy design embossing folder for a bit of texture, I then added some faux stitching by piercing holes with a pokey tool, then joining the dots with the fine nib of a Distress Marker.  I did the same round the edge of the topper, using a different colour marker.  As good fortune would have it, I found a doily in my stash that was just right size and colour to use as a mat for my topper!
To embellish, I used Papermania Botanicals silk ribbon, (which was reduced from £4 to £1 in Hobby Craft) flowers made with Nellie Snellen and Xcut punches, and some fancy pearls that came free with a magazine.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
The East Wind - #13 - For the Kiddies
Brown Sugar - #107 - Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity - #189 - Something Old - I used old paper, an old sentiment and old brads
Sweet Pea Stampers - Embossing, Wet or Dry
Southern Girls - All About Texture
Hobbybook - All About Kids
Creative Card Crew - #68 - Embossing, Wet or Dry
Digi Chooseday - #32 - Stitching, Real or Faux
