CAS for Christmas

We had our usual Monday night craft session last night, and, after tea and home made rhubarb and custard tart, we all made woven cards.  These were inspired by an article in Quick Cards Made Easy, but we all ended up with very different cards, I went with a Christmas theme, using contemporary colours and mixing paper strips with ribbon for the weaving.
The papers are Lili of the Valley Woodland Christmas, I've used these for the woven strips and the narrow green mat, the colours of this pack are just so beautiful, and really unusual for a Christmas stack.
The ribbon, like most of the stuff I use is from Mei Flower, I stock up from her at the SECC in October, the ribbon is cheap but holds a bow beautifully, and it comes in such a huge selection of colours.
To embellish, I added some pine branches and cones made with Spellbinders Foliage dies, a sentiment from Craftwork Cards, and a trio of gems.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Holly Jolly Christmas - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Non-Traditional Christmas
Love to Create - #135 - Ribbon
Ooh La La - #166 - Use a Bow
Completely Christmas - #31 - Anything Goes

Crafty Sentiments - Bingo - Designer Paper, Die Cut, Sentiment
Crafting from the Heart - #38 - Anything Goes

  2. Hi Wendy, super card - I like the simple use of strips of paper combined with ribbon and, yes, the contemporary colours are lovely. Funny, I'll be stocking up on ribbon, among other things, at the SECC in October ... might just bump into you there :) Elizabeth xx
