Home is Where the Heart Is

I've made this card for a friend, who after spending years nursing her elderly, sick parents, has finally got a place of her own again.
The shaped card blank is from Express Yourself and the little door actually opens!  As it's plain white I had free reign to embellish away to my hearts content!  I stamped flowers and leaves round the doorway using my geriatric See Ds stamps and coloured the door with Distress Ink in Barn Door, adding a gunmetal gem for a handle.  I cut the window frame with nesties and made curtains from tiny scraps of paper.  I then stamped a plant pot and flowers with See Ds, cut out and added to the window sill.  I made steps from a scrap of grey card and bushes from a scrap of  green card.  The pink flowers were punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and I stuck tiny yellow gems on for the centres.  The birds and pot by the door were all stamped with See Ds stamps too.  I bought heaps of See Ds when they first came out years ago but hadn't really used them for ages.  I quite enjoyed resurrecting them for a play!
I cut the roof from Bazzil card and stamped the sentiment in Pumice Stone Distress Ink using a Personal Impressions stamp.  The heart was made with a Spellbinders Mixed Media die.
I had a great chance to make a tiny dent in my scrap box with this card, now I just have to work out what to do with the rest of my scrap mountain!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Hiding in my Craft Room - #42 - super scraps Saturday
Fairy Fun Friday - #76 - anything goes
Deep Ocean Challenge - inspired by a song - Our House by Madness
Scrappy Frogs - shape it up - shaped card
That Craft Place - #9 - anything but square or rectangle

I agree with you about the SeeD's - I've tons of the alphabets and a few image sets kicking about somewhere. They probably thought it was their birthday seeing daylight and ink again :) LOL
