This Penny Black stamp is called "Sparklers", so I decided to add some sparkle to this card. (Like I need a reason!).
I stamped the flowers in Dusty Concord and Peeled Paint Distress Ink, misting with water before hitting the paper. I then coloured the edges with Milled Lavender Distress Ink using my Tim Holtz blending tool. After stamping and inking, I misted the whole piece with water again to allow the colours to bleed slightly giving a soft, watercoloury feel. Once dry I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz tool, as with all the edges on this project. Next it was on with some Lavender Stickles to the flower heads for a touch of bling
After that it was just a case of layering up with a mix of matte and glitter card, adding a splash of green with a Martha Stewart leafy border punch and a sentiment stamped with a Papermania Urban stamp.
Everyone who knows me, knows I'm a hopeless ribbonaholic, so I've layered two ribbons, a purple organza one and a green gingham one, also adding a green bow.
The flowers around the edge are Papermania from a goody bag many moons ago and came as an adhesive strip. I simply cut them into individual blooms and added a touch of Lavender Stickles to the centres.
A few purple gems finish it off and add even more sparkle!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
There She Goes - #153 - sketch
Penny Black - #198 - no patterned paper
Tuesday Throwdown - #95 - use some sparkle
