GDT Card For Quirky Crafts

After winning a challenge recently at Quirky Crafts, I was invited to be a guest designer for the next challenge, which starts today, with the theme of "The Silk Road", meaning all things oriental.  Even as GDT, I was very generously given a Squigglefly digi to play with.  The digi came with two versions, one with the character blacked out, and one as an outline version, as soon as I saw the outline version, I knew I wanted to paper piece it with patterned paper, which I did with fairly elderly Papermania oriental paper from an A4 Ultimate pack.  I then glazed it with Glossy Accents for that lovely Oriental lacquered look.

 All but one of the papers are Papermania, from the Ultimate pack, as are the tag and corner elements, but the vertical mat behind the image is the most gorgeous embossed, shimmery paper, with Chinese characters on it.  I bought it at a craft show ages ago but never had quite the right project to use it on, until now.  I used glossy black card for the matting, again for that lacquered look that screams oriental to me, I also think it sets of the red and jade colours rather well too.
To embellish, I've added some black organza ribbon, a bow, black pearls, some black border peel-offs, and a flower made with Tim Holtz Tattered Florals dies from Gemstones Core'dinations, held together with a glazed brad.
