Cutie Pie DT Card - Punches and Dies

It's challenge time at Cutie Pie once again, this time our theme is, "Cute with Punches and Dies" and we're sponsored by Stamp and Create, and A Random Fan.  I didn't think I'd get a DT card made for this challenge, what with my husband being in hospital, but I felt like a bit of crafting when I got in from visiting him yesterday, so I managed to make this one at the very last minute!
I dug out one of my older Gorjuss stamps for this one and coloured her with Promarkers to match these Papermania Gorjuss papers from last year, I love the rich colour tones, and I enjoyed using a colour combo I don't very often use.  I used a Spellbinders Curved Rectangle die to cut out the topper and dusted on a hint of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink round the edges, concentrating the colour at the top.
The rest of the dies used are all Marianne, I inked the die cuts with Evergreen Bough and Pumice Stone Distress Inks for definition of the embossing, and I coloured the branch brown with a Distress Marker.  I stamped a sentiment using a stamp from an Imagination Crafts set, used a circle punch to punch it out, then inked the edges with more Pumice Stone ink.  A Gorjuss stripy button is the final touch.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Come and Get It - In the Garden
Allsorts - #252 - Use Those Dies
Alphabet Challenge - D for Die Cuts
Sweet Pea Stampers - Distress it to the Max

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Ribbon and Lace

It's challenge time again at A Gem of a Challenge, this week our theme is "Ribbon and Lace", we want to see both on your creation.  I've used one of Janet's new Jodie digis for my card, Jodie with Cupcake, you'll find it in the Pink Gem shop here. The sentiment is from the Grungy Sentiments set, you'll find it here
I've used my Promarkers to colour the image, and the sentiment, which I printed onto white card, I also frantaged two of the corners and added red gems to the cherries.  I used a Spellbinders Lacy Ovals die to cut out the image to add to the pretty, lacy look.
The papers are Papermania, Bellisima, I'm a little bit in love with these scrummy papers at the moment, there's not not one sheet in the whole pack that isn't utterly gorgeous.
I added a length of lace with some pink satin ribbon layered on top, tucked beneath the image, then topped it with a large double bow for my ribbon and lace element.  I then further embellished with a flower made with a Spellbinders die and a frantaged middle, tiny punched flowers, pearls and gems.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Anything Goes

It's challenge time again at I Love Promarkers, this week our theme is the ever popular "Anything Goes" and we're sponsored by Marianne and Stitchy Bear, meaning two prizes up for grabs.  Stitchy Bear kindly gave the DT a digi of our choice to play with, I chose this fun Easter image, called Three Amigos, which I coloured, of course, with Promarkers.
I decided to go for a fresh, spring look, using lots of white against the bright, candy coloured image, with pops of pastel from the mats, buttons and bow.  I added interest to the white layers by embossing them with two different Embossalicious folders.  A stamped sentiment finishes it off.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Fabulous Fifties

You may recognise the layout of this card, I made a very similar one using Oyster Blush papers not very long ago, it's amazing how different it looks in a different colour palette.
The glorious, fifties inspired papers are Papermania, Happy Days, I have the beautiful, big 12x12 double sided pack, a stack so gorgeous it's hard to cut them up, and it's a big stack with lots of sheets that I've had for ages, but still I struggle to cut into it!  I've added some kraft for the dress form and some red mirri for the accessories.
I cut the fancy oval with a Spellbinders die, all the other dies used are Xcut, from the Dressing Room set, which I borrowed from my Mum, but which I must buy at some point, it's brilliant, and there are so many dies in the set for £20.
To finish, I added some mint green grosgrain ribbon with a bow and a stamped sentiment.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Daring Cardmakers - Use Xcut Dies
Dream Valley - #78 - Mothering Sunday
Hobbycutz - #40 - Girly but no Pink

Lovely in Lilac

I just had to treat myself to the new Papermania Bellisima papers from the current loop, they're soooo pretty.  I've used some of the lilac ones from the pack for this card, but there are lovely pink, peach and blue ones too.
The image is a digi from Pixie Dust Studio, I've coloured it with Promarkers and highlighted the bubbles with Star Dust Stickles.
The papers, as mentioned before, are Papermania, Bellisima, to which I've added lilac cardstock for matting and a pretty doily.
To finish, I've used, lilac satin ribbon, a large bow, a handmade flower made with Woodware punches, tiny lilac pearls, larger lilac pearls, purple pearls, and a stamped sentiment.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Fussy and Fancy DT Project - Shabby Chic

If you're looking for my Digi Haven DT project, it's in the post below.

It's challenge time again at Fussy and Fancy, this time our theme is "Shabby Chic" and we're sponsored by Live and Love Crafts.  I've gone off the page with an altered project this time, using an MDF clock kit from Anna Marie designs.
The kit contained the bare MDF pieces to build the clock with, including the bird on his perch, the wooden numbers, and the clock mechanism, the pieces are laser cut and fit together really easily.
I used Prima, Fairy Rhymes papers to cover the pieces before assembly, brushing gesso round the edges to add to the shabby look, and adding Star Dust Stickles to the butterflies.  One of the papers had a weathered, slatted wood design, which I thought was perfect for the bird house roof.
I painted the bird with gesso, and once dry, I added a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Distress Paint, then, once it was dry, inked over with Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap.  I then added feathers for wings and gems for eyes.
I decorated the roof with some handmade flowers, made with Spellbinders and Marianne dies.  I shabbied them up a little with a touch of gesso and a hint of Star Dust Stickles, and finished the cluster with some feathers and die cut leaves.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges -
Divas by Design - Flower Power
City Crafter - #203 - Spring in the Garden
Crafty Boots - Feathers
Crafts 4 Eternity - #168 - Anything Goes
The Shabby Tea Room - #210 - Anything Goes

Digi Haven DT Card - Things With Wings

It's challenge time again at Digi Haven, this time our theme is the ever popular, "Thing With Wings", and we're sponsored by Whoopsi Daisy, who kindly gave the DT some digis to play with.  I chose this thoughtful fairy, coloured her with Promarkers and fussy cut her out.  I then heat embossed her wings with a holographic powder and added some extra glitter to it.
To create the background, I took a piece of grey, slightly pearlised card, cut it to size and used a spotty stencil and some gesso to make the spots.  Once dry, I ran it though an Embossalicious embossing folder, and highlighted the raised areas of the design with gilding wax.  I then finished the background with some tiny punched mirri stars and some stamped sentiments, using stamps from different sets.
I die cut the stars from grey card, then used a Stampendous encrusted jewel set to heat emboss, it's really glittery in reality, the camera hasn't picked up the sparkle at all, unfortunately.  I stuck the fairy to the top star with glue gel, then attached both stars to the card with a strip of acetate, so that it hangs from the card front and wobbles a bit.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
4 Crafty Chicks - #186 - No Pattern Paper
Crafting for all Seasons - #73 - No Designer Paper
Paper Pretties - #302 - Make Your Own Background

Oyster Blush Again

Yes, it's THOSE papers again!  I can't get enough of Papermania's Oyster Blush papers at the moment, I love the soft colours, pretty patterns and lustrous sheen, they're a nice weight to work with too.
I made the stepper card using my mega handy B-C-E template, then matted up with Oyster Blush papers and a matching scalloped oval notelet.
I borrowed Mum's Xcut Dressing Room die set to make the embellishments, I cut the dress form three times, once from kraft and twice from paper, so I could create the pleats in the skirt section.  I added clear glass micro beads to the bodice and along the hemline so that these areas look beaded.  I finished the dress with a die cut bow.  The bag and shoes and butterfly were cut from glitter card for a glam look.
I stamped the sentiment with a Papermania stamp, in brown ink for a soft look and finished off with ribbon, a bow and some peach pearls.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Pink and Brown

We have a colour challenge for you at I Love Promarkers, as this week our theme is, "Pink and Brown", and we're sponsored by Visible Image.  I love this colour combo so thoroughly enjoyed making this weeks card using one of Janet's new Pink Gem images, called Fairy Grace, she has, of course, been coloured with Promarkers, with a touch of Glamour Dust for some fairy sparkle.
The papers are Papermania, Boofle, which have been in my stash  for a while, I'd forgotten how nice they are, I added a strip of the brown gingham paper to the inside, along the bottom edge so it can be seen when the card is closed and from some angles when it's standing, but not in this photo!  I used a Tonic border punch to add some detail to the strip that I stuck the ribbon to, I chose grosgrain scalloped ribbon for a bit of texture.
I used a shaped card from Craftwork Cards, the stars were already embossed on it, I just went in with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink to add colour and pick out the design.  I followed the shape at the bottom with a few pink gems for more sparkle.
The flowers were made with an assortment of Nellie Snellen and Woodware punches and I finished off with a sentiment from a Pink Gem digi set, which I coloured with Promarkers to match my card.

Roses and Ruffles

It was our girly craft night last night, and after our tea and home baked rock cakes, we all made centre step cards using my B-C-E template.  A couple of us went vintage, using up some of an old (and by old I mean pre Adorable Scorable) Hunkydory kit called Lovely in Lace, which I bought from Create and Craft several years ago as part of a bargain mixed pack which had several collections together in one goody bag, with contents varying from bag to bag.  Needless to say there's still tons left, as I don't make all that many cards with ready made toppers or decoupage, but it was nice to revisit some older stash, something that I've been trying to do lately, with varying success!
I made the card base from printed cardstock, then chose a rose design twisted pyramage topper, which I layered up with foam pads and matted on to green card.  The tags, sentiment and circle embellishments are from the same kit, I just jazzed them up a bit with some gems and matted the sentiment on to green card.
Next it was ribbon time.  I went mental with it.  Pink satin.  Green satin.  Pink organza.  Lace.  Ruffles.  A large bow.  Tied to tags.  Ooohhh, I do love a bit of ribbon!

Cutie Pie DT Card - Cute One for Mum

It's challenge time once again at Cutie Pie, our theme this fortnight is, "Cute One for Mum", and we're sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts, and Bugaboo, who were generous enough to giver the DT some cute images to play with.  I went with this fun image, which gave me a chance to use up some geriatric Papermania, Honey and Hugs papers, which were perfect for this card because one of the designs has little sheep on.
I've used my usual Promarkers to colour the image, I couldn't resist adding rosy cheeks for a cute touch.
To embellish, I added some pink spotty ribbon, a button, blue gems, and a flower die cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations dies from my own handmade felt, which is held together with a colourful brad.  I thought that a felt flower would be the perfect embellishment for this wooly card, as the wool to make the felt came from a merino sheep once upon a time!

The Bird King

I had great fun getting inky with this one, using Distress Ink pads and Distress Markers to create a vintage card.
I achieved the mottled background on the topper by applying Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks, then spritzing with water, and drying with a heat gun.  I then gave it a spray with Perfect Pearls shimmer spray in Cappuccino.
I stamped the image in Stayzon ink, it's a lovely Crafty Individuals stamp, which I then coloured with Distress Markers, using a gold gel pen for the frame and glazing the flowers with Anita's 3D Gloss.  To finish the topper, I've gone round the edge, adding tiny dots of lilac Liquid Pearls.
The papers are Papermania, Madame Payraude, I've chosen some with a bird print designs for this card, and I've distressed all the edges to add to the vintage look.  The doily was also given a spray with Perfect Pearls shimmer sprays, this time I used Cappuccino and Bronze.
To embellish, I've added a large bow, gems, pearls, feathers, lace, and some rolled roses made with a Marianne die, using some of my own handmade, double sided felt, which I had left over from some felting projects.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -

Inky Garden Scene

I've been getting splodgy with my distress inks again to create a garden scene, inspired by the warmer spring weather.  Watch out local bird tables, my cats are enjoying spending more time outdoors again!
I masked off much of the card with masking tape, leaving a wide band, then dabbed Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint Distress Inks on a non stick mat and spritzed with water.  I then swooshed the card through the ink, keeping the blue at the top for the sky and the green at the bottom.  Next I removed the tape and very lightly dabbed the card back in the ink, I then sprayed the piece with water and dried with a heat tool.  Once dry, I put masking tape back on in the same place it was before.
The stamps I've used are all from Clarity.  To create the background foliage, I used just one stamp, inked with Peeled Paint, stamped several times, then sprayed with water to soften.  Once that was dry, I removed the tape from the right hand side and stamped the branch at the top.  I then removed the rest of the tape and stamped the birdhouse, inking the stamp with Walnut Stain and Peeled Paint, then stamped the fence, offsetting it slightly, the cat and the birds.
I decided to create a frame using the edges of the branch stamp all the way around the edges of the card.  I then simply matted it onto dark brown card and stuck it to my card blank.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - Let's Get Spotty

We're seeing spots this week at I Love Promarkers, as our challenge theme is, "Lets Get Spotty", and we're sponsored by Letraset.
The image is a Kanban stamp, from a set that I've had for ages.  This particular image has only been inked once or twice before, I really bought the set because of one of the other stamps, which has been used umpteen times and is one of my favourites, I did, however, really enjoy colouring this cutie, with my Pro and Flexmarkers of course.
The papers, sentiment and ribbon are all from Papermania's Kraft Notes range, I picked up a big Kraft Notes goody bag in Hobby Craft last week containing a 6x6 double sided paper pack, two sheets of toppers, a pack of ribbon, a pack of bows and two stamps, all for the bargain price of a fiver!  All I've added to the mix are some pink and lilac gems and a doily.

Decoupage Dress-Up

This card was made with the freebie decoupage kit that comes with the current issue of Creativity magazine.  I wasn't sure about the Bellisima range at first, but I really like it now, the papers especially, I think I might have to treat myself to a pack.
The patterned papers in the kit are only A6 in size, so I added some plain blue card for layering to make my card up to 5x7 size.  I also added some peach lace, lilac ribbon, Oyster Blush buttons, clear gems, blue pearls, a computer generated sentiment, and a dab of Star Dust Stickles to the image for some girly sparkle.

A Toast to the Bride and Groom

I've been using my gorgeous new Oyster Blush papers from Papermania again, they're my craft crush at the moment, I just love the pearlised finish and the pretty patterns.
The stamp has been lurking in my stash for a while, uninked, to my shame, I picked it up half price in a sale and didn't get round to using it.  It's lovely, and a good size too, I think it'd be perfect for a less traditional wedding, like mine, which was in a registry office.  It's been coloured with Promarkers, as usual.
I used a Grand Spellbinders die to cut the fancy circle, the colour is softer in reality.
To embellish, I added some cream spider's web, peach grosgrain ribbon, a bow, and some flowers and leaves made with punches.

We have a colour challenge for you at Digi Haven this fortnight, we'd like you to use at least three different shades of green.  We're sponsored this time by Beccy's Place, I've used one of her wonderful freebies for my card, you'll find it here if you want to download it yourself.
The image has been coloured with Pro and Flexmarkers, it's just perfect for a first birthday, this card is for a friend's son, Ebyn, I can't believe he's a year old already.  I fussy cut the image so I could raise it up on foam pads for dimension, the die cut oval and sentiment are raised up too.
The patterned papers are are from two different packs, one Papermania, the other DCWV, the plaid background I created with a lovely Embossalicious embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the letter stickers for the name are Papermania.
To embellish, I added grosgrain ribbon layered over satin ribbon, a large bow, and some buttons threaded with baker's twine.

I Love Promarkers DT Card - One for the Girls

It's that time of the week again when we start a new challenge at I love Promarkers, this time our theme is "One for the Girls" and we're sponsored by Sherri Baldy.
I treated myself to the new Docrafts goody bag at the weekend, these gorgeous Oyster Blush Capsule Collection papers were in it.  They have the same designs as the Parisian Blue papers from the last loop, but these ones have a beautiful pearlised finish.  I bought the matching notelets, I've used one here to mat the image onto, setting eyelets into it and threading it with peach ribbon.
The image is a freebie from A Day for Daisies, it's called Vintage Slip, you'll find it here, if you want to download it yourself, it's a lovely one to colour, which I have, of course, done with Promarkers.  I computer generated the sentiment in a font to compliment the image.
To embellish, I've added a flower made with Woodware punches, a flourish cut with a Marianne die, a bow, and peach pearls.

Cutie Pie DT Card - Cute With Swirls and Pearls

It's challenge time again at Cutie Pie, and this time our theme is "Cute with Swirls and Pearls", and we're sponsored by Di's Digis.
I've used a cute Helz Cuppleditch stamp for this card, colouring it with a mix of Pro and Flexmarkers to match these lush Lili of the Valley, Beach Bliss papers.  I chose these papers as they have lovely flourishes on them, in keeping with our theme this fortnight.  To continue the swirly theme I cut some flourishes with a Tim Holtz Sizzix die, and followed the curve of a couple with weeny blue pearls.
The sentiment was stamped with a Hobby Craft stamp, I thought the floral design went rather well with this image, I coloured it to match the papers, topping the flowers with brown pearls.
To embellish, I added punched flowers and leaves, tiny die cut birds made with Marianne dies, and some aqua pearls

A Gem of a Challenge DT Card - Anniversary

Our challenge theme this week at A Gem of a Challenge is "Anniversary", I decided to use this fun Owl with Rose digi, coloured with my usual Promarkers.
The papers are Lili of the Valley, Perfect Pear, a stack I seem to have been using a lot lately, I really like the pink and green colour combo and pretty prints.
The postcard stamp I used is Papermania, from the Madame Payraude range, I added a stamped anniversary sentiment along the left hand side.  I think it'll prove to be a very handy stamp, postcards seem to be all the rage at the moment and this one stamps well and is a nice, large size.
To embellish, I've used satin ribbon, a bow, a couple of stick pins, a pink doily, a die cut flourish, green gems and a flower made with Woodware punched and topped with a button.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
