After seeing some Paddington products on Create and Craft, I started thinking about kids TV in the 70s and early 80s. Remember how the backgrounds in Paddington and other kids TV shows were black and white line drawings with just the characters in colour in the days of low budget children's telly? Well, I decided to put a papercraft twist on the idea and here's what I came up with. The image is a Penny Black stamp, coloured with Promarkers, cut out and layered with foam pads for dimension onto a plain stamped image. The floral border was stamped with an ancient See Ds stamp set with the corner flowers raised on foam pads.
It was then just a case of layering up and adding ribbon, a bow and some gems as well as a stamped sentiment.
It's actually quite a large card at 8x8 and a bit different from my usual style but it was fun to work through the thought process that led to it. When I started it, I didn't really know what I was going to end up with even though I was using a sketch but that's how I usually work! My cards just kinda happen!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Passion for Promarkers - #141 - animals
Graphicat Sketches - #4 - sketch
Anything Goes Challenge - #63 - get ready for Easter
Celebrate the Occasion - #55 - welcome spring
Pollycraft - #132 - check it out
