A Little Birdie Told Me

I had a bit of a purse malfunction, ie. I spent too much, in the craft shop yesterday!  It's not my fault they stock the loveliest things!  I went in for a Promarker blender pen to replace my old one and came out with a mini sewing machine, a set of Spellbinders Mixed Media dies and some crackle paint.  Oops!
Mum and I had a lovely, crafty afternoon when we came home from the craft shop.  We had already decided we were going to play with heat embossing satin board but I just had to use my new dies too.  I had the packaging open as soon as I got through the door!
The effect of heat embossing with clear powder on satin board is truly magical, the embossed areas look as if they've been foiled.  I've used my Artemio feather stamps, such a versatile set.
The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection in Sunshine which I've teamed with two shades of grey to tone the colours down a bit.
The 8x8 shaped blank is from Craftwork Cards and I've inked it with old Whispers ink pads which are a bit too dry to stamp with but are perfect for using direct to paper.
The leafy border punch is from EK Success and is such an elegant design.
The bird, branch and leafy border behind the sentiment are all from my new Spellbinders set.  I think I might be just s little bit in love with them!
The sentiment stamp is from a new Papermania Urban stamp set, one I've used loads already.
Well, it wouldn't be mine without some ribbon and gems and I've added a tiny bird brad to the centre of my trademark bow.
