Mmmm Cupcakes!

Here's my final Easter card for this year.  It's for a friend who's just taken up baking after me pestering her to for years!  She's made some Easter cupcakes already and was very proud of them so I just had to use this decoupage image for her card.
The decoupage was free with Creativity magazine and had lots of lovely springtime images.  I do love the Forever Friends bears and used to cross stitch them as a teenager.  My Mum always called them the Bumhead Bears because she thought the seam down the front of their heads made them look like bums!  My crafty friends all know them as that now!  I still think they're cute.
The papers are Papermania Boofle from the latest goody bag.  Even although they're 12x12, the designs are plenty small enough for cardmaking and the colours are lovely.
The arrow was cut from kraft and stamped with stamps from a Forever Friends Springtime stamp set in Rich Cocoa Memento.
The flowers were made with my Nellie Snellen punches and I couldn't resist adding a bow and some pearls.
I hope all that makes sense, I'm on some new medication as it looks like I've got fibromyalgia, and they're making me a bit dizzy and even more away with the fairies than usual.  Just another visit to the endocrine clinic and a CT scan to ensure its not the Cushings Disease returning, and I'll have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia by process of elimination of every thing else.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Card Positioning Systems - #259 - sketch
Just Keep on Creating - #1 - anything goes
Penny's Papercrafting Challenge - #73 - Easter
Oozak - #1 - anything goes

  1. hi Wendy,
I just love this card and I am sure your friend will as well. I love the colours, the main image and the funky arrow adds a point of difference and really stands out.

I am also a huge forever friends bear fan and when I was a teenager much to my mum's dismay had them everywhere.

I hope everything goes well with your medical tests, stay positive and I am sure that cardmaking is just the diversion you need.

Thanks so much for entering your card at Anything goes, Just keep on creating. I hope you will continue to enter your lovely work :)

  2. I will always look at those bears in a totally different light now Wendy !

Hope you soon feel less zombified, I know what it's like many of the drugs they use for my conditions are the same as used for fybromyalgia.

    Super card BTW.

Hope you have a good Easter break.

  9. Hi Wendy, oh my goodness - love your mum's description of FF bears! I'll never be able to look at them the same way now, I was never really a big fan of them (not that into bears) but always thought they were cute, as is your card.

I do hope your meds settle down soon and you loose the dizzy spells, must be difficult trying to get on with every day things if you feel like that.

    Best wishes,
    Sarah
