Patchwork Christmas Tree

We were a bit thin on numbers for my weekly girls craft session as it was Guy Fawkes Night, but as a result there's plenty marmalade loaf left in the tin for later in the week!  This week we made patchwork Christmas Trees based on an idea in Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine.
I decided to use up some pretty mag freebie papers from last year which I teamed with bright red and mint green cardstock.  For the green mat, I used one of my new embossing folders which I bought at the SECC.  The sentiment is from the current Docrafts goody bag which I bought despite my SECC spend up!  Oops!  I finished my card with a handful of buttons, a couple of brown pearls and some brown ribbon and a bow to add to the folksy look.
