Fussy and Fancy DT Card - Use a Faux Technique

We have a new challenge for you over at Fussy and Fancy today, this time our theme is "Use a Faux Technique".  This may be an opportunity to have a go at something new, as a crafter I'm always looking for something different to try, so why not play along and maybe expand your crafting knowledge.  On the other hand, you might decide to do something more straightforward, such as using Card Candi as faux brads, Liquid Pearls as faux pearls or maybe faux stitching.
I've used the faux suede technique, see my post below for a tutorial, as well as Card Candi as faux brads, faux stitching and crinkle kraft paper as faux ribbon.
If you're stuck for ideas Splitcoast Stampers has loads of tutorials here.
The clock topper was made with a Papermania Urban stamp which I heat embossed with verdigris powder, inked with Distress Ink in Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain, then spritzed with Perfect Pearls shimmer sprays in Cappuccino and bronze.  The sentiment in the middle was made from a Papermania Chronology topper that I cut down, the green backing paper is from this range too.
I used Spellbinders dies to make the cogs and ribbon slide and embellished with Card Candi and nail heads.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
Whimsy Inspirations - #57 - Stitch It
City Crafter - #153 - Anything Goes, Well Almost, I used a mist from Kirsty's blog
The Artistic Stamper - Texture
Cards Galore - Vintage
Sandy's Craft Creations - Anything Goes with Stitching
Cupcake Craft - #236 - Use Kraft
ABC - K is for Kraft
There She Goes - #201 - Masculine
Gingerloft - Kraft
Crafty Catz - #177 - Anything Goes
