Good morning everyone! We have a new challenge for you, starting today, over at A Gem of a Challenge, where our theme this week is "Bring on the Sunshine". Couldn't we all do with a bit of that that?! So, why not dig out your sunniest colours, cheerful sentiments, or maybe a summer themed image and play along, we'd love to see what you come up with.
I decided to send some sunshine to a friend who's feeling a bit under par at the moment, with this card and matching gift pouch set. She's a keen gardener and also a bee-keeper, in fact she's studying for her master bee-keeping exams at the moment, so I thought that this cute fellow would "bee" perfect for her.
For the card, I used three Pink Gem digis, Bee With Daffodil, Daisy Border, and Sunshine and Smiles sentiment. I used Promarkers for colouring and Star Dust Stickles on the wings.
The papers are from one of my all time favourite paper packs, Sun Kiss from Prima, it's one of those stacks that's almost too nice to use....almost! I created the floral frame with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the page set, and used Woodware punches and Card Candi to make the flower. The leaves were made with Marianne dies. Some pretty, apricot ribbon and a bow finish my sunny card off.
The pouch was made from a sheet of orange 12x12 cardstock, you'll find my tutorial for this here, it's really easy to do. I used the same papers and image as for the card, but this time I paper pieced the bee's wings.
A bag of Thornton's chocolates is the perfect size for this gift pouch, keep an eye out in pound shops as they often sell them for a pound instead of the usual two quid everywhere else.
