Christmas Star

It was craft night last night, and, after our tea and home baked red velvet cupcakes (you'll find the recipe here, on my baking blog) we all made cards using embossing folders and gilding wax.

I even managed to use up another A6 card blank from my enormous, and hardly touched stash of them, with this gold and blue Christmas card.
I used a Craft Concepts folder to emboss the background, then rubbed on gold gilding wax with my finger.
The border punch I used is a Tonic one and I die cut some stars with Xcut dies.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with gold powder, the stamp is from a Papermania Forever Friends set, and I coloured the white card with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.
Some ribbon, a bow, buttons and a gold gem finish my card off.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges -
The Crazy Challenge - #146 - Use a Sentiment
Stamping Sensations - Embossing and Texture
So Artful - Night Skies
Jingle Belles - Tie a Holiday Ribbon
Anything Goes - #93 - Handmade Background

  9. A very elegant Christmas card. Matthew was at the Bone Doctor as he calls him on Friday and he is starting to heal, he will still miss his trip to P7 trip to Loch Insch which he is upset about. I am going to see his play tomorrow night. Thanks for asking about him, I'll tell him you were asking after him. Probably won't see you at Bannantyne's in the next couple of weeks, see you for coffee sometime. Hope you are keeping ok and the new tablets are working. Marlene
