It's challenge time again at Fussy and Fancy, and I think this one will be popular. The theme is "Bling It On", so sprinkle those sequins, dig out that glitter and let loose those gems! The photos of my card don't show just how sparkly it is, it's covered in Glamour Dust, and so was I for days after making this!
I was asked to make a wedding card with lots of tartan on, and I instantly thought of a spool of Fraser tartan ribbon left over from when I made invitations for a family wedding. A ribbon wreath seemed the obvious choice, being quick and easy to make make, but looking quite impressive to those who've never made one. I made a large, double looped bow with a heart brad in the centre to cover the join.
I used a Lili of the Valley stamped image in the centre, coloured with my trusty Promarkers and highlighted with Glamour Dust and several colours of Stickles for the confetti.
I embossed the scalloped blank with a flourish folder, then went over the design with a Quickie glue pen and added, yes, you've guessed it, yet more Glamour Dust, and three sizes of clear gems. I also went round the edges of the blank with the glue pen and glittered in the same way.
The heart in the top right corner was die cut and embossed with a Cuttlebug set, and I added more glue pen to the recessed areas, and yet another ton of Glamour Dust.
Even my crafty friends have said, "You do know you're covered in glitter don't you?", imagine what the non crafty ones, not to mention strangers are thinking!!
